The Castle Air Museum is located on then Merced Air Base in California. It's located nearly all outdoors, relying on the Northern California sunshine. There's an impressive line-up of aircraft, including the worlds largest - the Convair B-36. THey also have the only British Avro Vulcan B2 bomber.
Several times a year they have open cockpit day, opening up the planes to visitor inspection. I visited the museum on such a day and took photographs of many aircraft cockpits. I also sat inside a B-52 bomber.
