Palm Springs, California, is a hot place. It was over 100 degrees when I visited. But thankfully most of the museum is in nice, cool indoors. There are a few planes out front, and a few are on the concrete out back. There are docents on duty and they are friendly. You can climb inside a B-17 and look around. Some of the docents even flew in B-17s during the war!
